PART TIME APP (PA / NP)

Educational and Certification Requirements

Candidates for employment will have completed the necessary educational requirements for this role (MSN, DNP, MSPAS, DMSc, etc), possess current national certification as FNP (ANCC, AANP) or PA (NCCPA), currently have or be eligible for unencumbered approval to practice in the state of North Carolina from the NC BON and/or NC Medical Board, and currently have or be eligible for a DEA certificate. Malpractice (incident based) 1M/3M required.

New graduates are considered.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

- An understanding of the APP scope of practice and its application parameters within a rural setting

- The ability to utilize and apply critical thinking skills as a healthcare provider

- The ability to work independently, completing tasks in an efficient and timely manner

- The ability to communicate, both spoken and written, in a clear, effective and proficient manner

- The ability to work well others, including support staff, providers and students.

- The ability to demonstrate the motivation required to dynamically improve self professionally

- The desire to be a part of our mission of serving others while being creative in the process to do so

- The ability to produce three professional references (letters), with each reference reachable by phone

- The ability to successfully pass the drug screen and background check requirements.

- Submission of the fit for duty health examination form, as well as proof of required immunizations (or immunity) prior to the end of the 90 days of employment with AFH.

Scheduling

Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 0800-1700 .

Clinic is closed on weekends as well as holidays (New Year's day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas)

Part time providers work a minimum of two days per week

Duties

Work with provider staff (NP/PA/MD/DO), clinical support staff (MA, RN) and administrative staff (reception and leadership) rendering direct and indirect patient care. Responsible for clinical intake data collection, including comprehensive patient history completion, reviewing vital signs and appropriately compiling related health information for acute and chronic encounters. Complete procedures, manage acute/chronic health concerns for patients across the lifespan, order and interpret diagnostic testing, coordinate care with other healthcare professionals inside and outside of AFH, lead community education courses, and be open to local, regional and international mission opportunities.

Compensation and benefits

- Annual discretionary fund access (education, licensure, personal leave, malpractice insurance, etc) after first year

- Bonus eligibilities after 90 days

- Incentive pay opportunities eligible after 90 days

- Paid per completed visit, tabulated weekly with direct deposit, commensurate with professional experience. AFH providers may determine his/her own daily patient schedule (number of patients/day, length of appointment, etc) to best align with his/her goals of practice.

Full time providers are offered the option for one day per week for non-clinical time (NCT), which may be in-office or remote, or if all tasks are completed, it may be used as a personal day. A minimum of four days per week are utilized for patient appointments.
